Path to Success Raises £17000 For London Titans at Olympic Park

Path to Success organised a charity event in order to raise funds for the wheelchair basketball team London Titans and to attract people’s attention towards the game. The Olympic Park corporate wheelchair basketball tournament was held at Olympic Park Copper Box Arena on 26th April and was participated by five wheelchair basketball teams. The day kick started with current Titans players, featuring ex-Team GB Paralympian Tyler Saunders and Junior Team GB European champion Christy Gregan who held a training session for the participants.

The event also saw corporate giants such as PHA Media, Deloitte, Shanti Hospitality and University of East London compete against each other in a knockout format. Baroness Grey-Thompson presented an achievement award to Titans head coach Ian Laker for his immense contribution and continuous efforts towards wheelchair basketball in the UK.

The London Titans have 66 members and have produced more than 50 team GB players. But they do not receive any central sports funding. But the initiative by Anita Choudhrie’s Path to Success means the money raised will be allocated to buy sports wheelchairs, cover match fees, transport, court hire and most importantly efficient coaching of the team.

Path to Success, founded in 2005 by Mrs Anita Choudhrie is a London based charity house, which has chosen to support the much deserving sport and the London Titans Team. Anita concluded, “Today has gone off really well and we are so happy and proud to see the culmination of 6-8 months of very hard work. We have had really good fundraising support from companies and I hope they will respond to us again in the future.”

The sport should be garnered with deserved attention as it has introduced a new spirit in the lives of differently abled. Their lives have been acquainted with a reason to do something exemplary and the motivation that they are no less than any other human being. Christy Gregan, London Titans player said, “Wheelchair basketball has enabled me to travel the world, meet some of my best friends and do things I never thought I could do.”

Path to Success Successfully Concludes Wheelchair Basketball Tournament: Raising £17,000

Path to Success concluded their wheelchair basketball tournament on 26th April. The fund raising tournament was hosted at Olympic Park Copper Box arena and had active participation from 5 wheelchair basketball teams. 

“Our goal for the day was to create an open and positive environment within which colleagues could experience the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball for the first time,” said Anita Choudhrie, Founder of Path to Success.

Five-time Team GB Paralympian Ann Wild OBE provided extensive training to the teams. The coach was awarded for his immense contribution towards making the tournament a success and for making wheelchair basketball what it is today.

It raised a total amount of £17000 which will be donated to the most successful southern England club- wheelchair basketball team, London Titans. Coach Ian Laker was awarded by Baroness Tanni Grey – Thompson for his contributions in this field.

Baroness Grey-Thompson said: “Today has been brilliant because it’s so important to get people playing wheelchair sport whether disabled or able-bodied. When I was growing up it was so hard to find a team and to play but now you can see the strength of wheelchair basketball and that is a testament to the legacy of 2012 and to people like Ian Laker.”

The club has a rich history and has continued success by producing more than 50 Team GB players in its history but hasn’t been granted any central sports funding. 

However, donations raised from the event will be used to support South London’s most popular wheelchair basketball club, and will be invested in sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching.

The Olympic Park Corporate wheelchair basketball tournament was held at Olympic Park Copper Box arena on 26th April, and witnessed active participation from five wheelchair basketball teams.

The event not only brought wheelchair basketball to everyone’s attention but saw five teams compete with each other.  The tournament was able to raise a total amount of £17,000 for the Titans Club. Coach Ian Laker was also awarded for his immense contribution towards making wheelchair basketball for what it is today by Baroness Tanni Grey – Thompson.'

A voluntary minimum donation of £5,000 was expected from the participating teams. The donations raised from the event will be used to support South London’s most popular wheelchair basketball club, and will be invested in sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching.

The club has produced over 50 Team GB players in its history and doesn’t yet receive any central sports funding, but this event will surely help them grow.

Teams Fueled For Path to Success’ Corporate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Over the time, London Titans have formed a formidable reputation for themselves as one of the successful and loved wheelchair basketball club. The team till date has produced more than 50+ GB players in its history, but sadly remains one of the clubs that is bereft of any central funding.

But now the team shall receive financial aid from Path to Success. The charity is organising a corporate wheelchair basketball tournament to raise donations for London Titans. The event will be held on 26th of April between 9 AM – 5 PM at Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Eight teams of five to six players shall be competing against each other. Team GB Paralympians shall also be a part of this match.

The teams shall be given extensive training by five-time Team GB Paralympian Ann Wild OBE. Team GB players shall keep the audience mesmerised by showcasing their skills. The game shall be hosted by two courts together and two final teams shall meet in a face off to decide the final champions. A voluntary minimum donation of £5,000 is expected from the participating teams. 

The donations would be invested in sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching of London Titans.

Wheelchair basketball has rapidly risen in popularity and its success in England has been marked by the club London Titans. One of the most popular wheelchair basketball clubs in the country, it has produced more than 50 Team GB players.

As a gesture of appreciation to the clubs dedication, Anita Choudhrie’s charity, Path to Success, is organising a corporate wheelchair basketball tournament to support London Titans by investing all donations for the benefit of the team. Copper Box Arena, the Olympic famed venue, will host the event on April 26th and Team GB Paralympians will be the celebrities participating.

Anita Choudhrie, founder of Path to Success, revealed the reasons behind choosing wheelchair basketball: “Our goal for the day is to create an open and positive environment within which colleagues can experience the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball for the first time – we’re also aiming to raise as much as possible for London Titans.”

“We are offering a unique experience to get away from the office and create lasting memories, while also raising money for an exceptional cause.”

A five-time Team GB Paralympian, Ann Wild OBE, will coach the teams to ensure, competitive spirits are high and exciting.

The games will be played parallel on two courts and the winners will face-off for a nail-biting final. The event will be hosted from 9 am – 5 pm and the teams willing to are providing a voluntary donation of £5,000.

Even after London Titans have proved themselves time and again, they haven’t received any central sports funding. The donations raised from this event would be invested in sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching of London Titans.

London Titans to Benefit From Path to Success’ Corporate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

The fast-paced and competitive nature of wheelchair basketball has brought in a lot of followers for the game, not just among the specially-abled, but the able-bodied as well. London Titans, the most successful southern England club, accepts both kinds of people to train with them. As the game has fans universally, London Titans have also got a fair share of die-hards.

But the club has been void of any central sports funding even after producing 50+ Team GB players.

Anita Choudhrie’s charity Path to Success is organising a corporate wheelchair basketball tournament where the donations received would go to London Titans. The event will be held at Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Team GB Paralympians would also take part in the exciting outing.

Around eight teams of six to eight members will compete in the all-day event.

Anita Choudhrie, who is the founder of Path to Success, hopes everyone gets an amazing experience of playing the game: “Our goal for the day is to create an open and positive environment within which colleagues can experience the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball for the first time.”

To ensure a highly competitive event, Ann Wild OBE, a five-time Team GB Paralympian would coach the teams and other Team GB players would mark their presence by displaying their skill set.

The games will be held from 9 am- 5 pm on two courts together and the final two teams will face-off to become champions. A voluntary minimum donation of £5,000 is expected from the participating teams.

Money from donations would be utilised in sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching of London Titans.

Stellar International Art Foundation Celebrates MF Husain’s Artistry at an Exhibition in Dubai

Stellar International Art Foundation acknowledged MF Husain’s legendary status and his close working relationship with the foundation by putting the most fantastic of his legacy on display at an exhibition held at Capital Club in Dubai. 

India is renowned for producing some of the best artists around the globe because of its culturally rich heritage and Husain’s genius has been the nation’s trademark for the past century. Hence, the exhibition was entitled, “The Journey of the Legend.” 

The exhibition was almost a follow up to another that was held in UK last year. Husain’s masterpieces had never been exhibited with such grandeur there and it was the largest collection outside the artist’s estate. 

Stellar International Art Foundation has kept its promise of going the extra mile to promote art and in 2014 it put on display the works of three artists at the seventh St. Moritz Art Masters exhibition, which was a region-wide display of Contemporary Art from India. A beautiful fusion of contemporary and modern, Indian and European and spiritual and secular art was on display. 

The event was well-received by art lovers and more than 30,000 visitors were present to witness the work of few of India’s most renowned artists such as Manish Nai, Nalini Milani, Shilpa Gupta, and Dubodh Gupta. 

Paresh Maity’s colourful and vibrant pieces were especially praised by everyone.

Stellar International Art Foundation also organised something apart from exhibitions when they participated in the Jaipur Literature festival. A comprehensive review of Paresh Maity’s works, titled Paresh Maity: World of Colours, was launched as a limited edition publication. 

Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Grammy winner and internationally celebrated musician was present along with the book’s author Sushma Bahl, art collector Anita Choudhrie and Maity himself. Ideas were discussed on how to promote art better. 

Stellar International Art Foundation is dedicated in using art to unite people across the globe, a vision that was incepted by founder Anita Choudhrie. The Dubai exhibition was held on 14th March from 6 PM to 9 PM at Capital Club Building 3, 312th Rd. Gate Village but is also open to the public this month.

Anita Choudhrie’s charity Path to Success has urged companies to participate in a corporate event where teams will play wheelchair basketball in a tournament against Team GB Paralympians at AN Olympic venue. Wheelchair basketball has found a lot of takers in recent times, because of the game’s health benefits as well as social development capabilities.

The event will be held at the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Tuesday, April 26th. A fundraiser, the money raised would be used in the development of UK’s renowned wheelchair basketball teams, the London Titans.

Eight teams would be allowed to participate and a minimum of six teams would compete. The game’s physically demanding nature and action packed execution provides the participants to better their communication, sharpen their leadership roles and help them perform better in a team.

Anita Choudhrie, founder of Path to Success, put out her vision for this tournament at a media event: “Our goal for the day is to create an open and positive environment within which colleagues can experience the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball for the first time.

To assure that the competition is stiff, teams will be coached by Ann Wild (OBE), a five-time Team GB Paralympian. Wild’s staff will be completed by Ade Adepitan MBE, a former Team GB Paralympian who is also a media personality and the current coach of London Titans. Team GB players would also flaunt their game skills at the event.

The games would be played from 9 to 5 and on two courts side by side, where the final two teams will face off for the champion’s title. Every team would be making a donation of a minimum of £5,000 or above which will be used for buying sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire and the transport and coaching of the London Titans. This would immensely benefit the team, which has been void of any central sports funding even when it has produced more than 50 Team GB Players in its history.

Anita Choudhrie and Path to Success Come Together For a Cause

To encourage team building and foster health and creative thinking, corporate companies come up with in-house teams that participate in charity sporting events and tournaments. Sports is a wonderful way to mobilize and galvanise for a social cause and that’s just what the charity, Path to Success aims to do.

In its endeavour to raise money for the London Titans, one of the leading wheelchair basketball teams in the UK, the charity Path to Success is inviting corporate groups for a unique wheelchair basketball competition at an iconic Olympics venue along with Team GB Paralympians.

The event will take place at the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on April the 26th, Tuesday. The charity is looking to form eight teams with eight or a minimum of six team members.

The reason for choosing wheelchair basketball is that it’s a demanding fast-paced sport that gives players opportunities to better their teamwork skills, work on communication and get into a leadership role.

The brainchild of Anita Choudhrie, Path to Success is a charity that takes up social causes to create innovative solutions that impact lives.  “Our goal for the day is to create an open and positive environment within which colleagues can experience the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball for the first time.

“We are offering a unique experience to get away from the office and create lasting memories, while also raising money for an exceptional cause”, said Anita at a media exchange.

In order to ensure the tournament turns out a test of the best, teams will undergo coaching from five-time Team GB Paralympian Ann Wild OBE. And London Titans coach, Ade Adepitan MBE, who is a former Team GB Paralympian and a known media personality, will also lend his valuable tips. The current Team GB members will also be presenting their skills at the court along with the teams.

The event will go on the whole day from 9 am to 5 pm, and will have two courts running matches alongside each other with the final two teams competing for the champions title.

Each team will be requested to make a voluntary donation of £5,000 or above. The money that the charity will raise from this event will be utilized in buying sports wheelchairs, match fees, court hire fees and also the coaching and transport of the London Titans, which has incidentally put out more than 50 Team GB players in its time as a team without receiving any central sports funding.
